Sleeping water

Clarinet, viola and pianoforte

Jeremy Arden

The title derives from the French idiom se méfier de l’eau qui dort (‘be wary of the water which sleeps’), meaning: be careful, because things are seldom as they appear. The performers should embrace the spirit of the water: overwhelming and sensuous.
