Imagine a plain canvas on which the brush-strokes can be distinguished. A whole life is present there, yet only a single colour. There are no directions—neither a beginning nor an end, it appears. Only the implacable logic of unicity. And on the canvas are placed symbols, like enigmas. Monochromatic instrumentation used structurally to great effect.
