Johann Friedrich Schreivogel
Reportedly born in Switzerland, probably during the 1680s, Johann Friedrich Schreivogel settled in Milan during his early adulthood, quickly establishing himself as a leading violinist who was known universally as ‘il Tedeschino’ (‘the little German’). Between the early 1720s and 1749 (the presumed year of his death), he was the acknowledged head of the Milanese school of violinists.
